I spent Sunday night making each of my children a stuffed animal. My daughter is now the proud owner of a rabbit made out of two white gloves and my son has a zebra made out of a pair of black and white striped socks. All was made possible by this great book, Sock and Glove: Creating Charming Softy Friends from Cast-Off Socks and Gloves.
I first saw this book featured on The Martha Stewart Show where they made a rabbit and a dog that were heartbreakingly cute. And since my children are stuffed animal lovers and I'm a bit on the crafty side (have I mentioned my daughter's name is Martha?), I ordered the book and picked up some supplies...and got to work.
Each animal took me about an hour to create from start to finish. And my children are now begging for me to create a zoo. They're asking which animal I will make for the baby. And they're wanting to go to the hardware store to pick up more white gloves (the cheapest ones work the best). What I'm trying to say is they're a hit!
Sock and Glove is available at us.penguingroup.com for $12.95.
