Life Factory Beverage Bottles

When Hazel was born I purchased Life Factory silicone-sleeved bottles to use when I was out of the house (although she never took to them...or any other bottle, for that matter). I always coveted her color bottles and wished there was an adult version for me. And now there is!

Life Factory has started making beverage bottles for us adults that come in the six colors you see above. I ordered the white, and have to say I love the clean, sophisticated look of it! Although I may be ordering another one in a fun color as well...you can never have too many water bottles around!

I think these bottles would make great Mother's Day gifts for moms and friends! What better way to show you care than to give a healthy and eco-friendly gift! And one that can be thrown in the dishwasher!

And this beverage bottle gave me an idea for Hazel's old bottle too...I ordered the solid baby bottle caps for hers and now Martha uses them as water bottles when we're on the go.

Visit lifefactory.com to purchase where they retail for $21.99. And enter coupon code ILOVEGLASS to receive 25% off your order of beverage bottles!

EarthLust

I love the ease of cleaning the stainless steel Klean Kanteen bottles, but appreciate the stylish designs on the more high maintenance Sigg bottles. So you can imagine my delight in discovering EarthLust bottles: well-designed stainless steel bottles!

EarthLust bottles are made from high quality, food grade stainless and are unlined. Each bottle is decorated with non-toxic paints and features a BPA-free cap.

You can now enjoy your cool beverage of choice in any of their three sizes: 13 ounces, 20 ounces and 1 liter. The small size is perfect for small children to hold and the larger sizes are great for older children and yourself! There is sure to be a style to fit each person's personality! And when you spot one that suits you, pick it up because each bottle design is a limited edition.

Visit earthlust.com to view their current bottle designs. Prices range from $16.00 to $21.00.

ZoLi

ZoLi is dedicated to environmentally friendly manufacturing of safe products for children.

Their bottles are BPA and phthalate-free...even their silicone nipples are nitrosamine-free. And each bottle features a patented integrated venting system to reduce colic.

My other two favorite products by ZoLi is their silicone teether that is nitrosamine and PVC-free and shaped like a flower and the On-the-Go travel formula and snack dispenser (which is also BPA and phthalate-free). Divided into four separate containers to keep your snacks separated and fresh until needed, they're perfect to keep in your diaper bag or in the car. You can also divide it into one, two or three portions so you're only carrying a container as big as you need.

ZoLi's products blend substance, sustainability, and style for a modern design that both reflects and enhances it's utility. They create products with a purpose: "to make parent's lives easier while growing a greener future for their children." That's music to my ears!

Available at zo-li.com where prices start at $4.99 for a teether.

Babies R Us BPA Product Returns

I read on a message board last week that Toys R Us and Babies R Us were accepting returns of BPA baby products. So I tested out the news and am happy to report that they are indeed giving in-store credit or exchanging the bottles...however, each store it handling this differently. My advice to you is the following:
  • Call your local Babies R Us store and ask what their policy is on BPA product returns as well as how long their return policy will be in effect.
  • Ask to speak to a manager if you need clarification on what you need to bring to the store to receive the credit/return. For example, I didn't need a receipt, however, rumor has it some stores are requiring them.
  • Bring bottles, cups, and breast pumps to the store clean (obviously) along with receipts if you have them.
  • Educate yourself on what bottles are safe on their shelves. Glass is always my first recommended choice, with BPA-free plastic also being cleared as safe.
Happy and safe feeding to all!

These aren't your mother's baby bottles, that for sure! From Adiri comes the Natural Nurser, the ultimate baby bottle for nursing mothers.

The Natural Nurser is 100% bisphenol-A and phthalate free making it safe for baby...and the soft top imitates mother's breast to perfection eliminating nipple-confusion (making it safe for mom too...I've been there with a nipple-confused baby...ouch!). And from a design aspect, what an artistically appealing, and stylish bottle!

Available in three stages in corresponding colors (white for babies up to 3 months, blue for babies up to 6 months and orange for babies 6 months and older). All bottles hold 8 ounces and are available at adiri.com for $12.50 each.

Glass Baby Bottles - Part 1 of 5

Glass bottles are making a come back! Unfortunately, it's out of necessity instead of just wanting to go vintage. But nonetheless, there are some great options on the market today. Below please find my reviews of some of the top options on the shelves...

Wee-Go Glass Baby Bottles

Babylife is reintroducing glass baby bottles, but with a new design and safety twist: the bottle is covered with a modern sleeve that will help protect the bottle from breakage and also prevent bumping into other articles in your diaper bag. This sleeve is free of plastics and is 100% non-toxic. The bottle and the sleeve can be boiled or put in the dishwasher together. The silicone nipple is latex-free and non-toxic. The plastic ring, plug and cap contain no polycarbonates and are food grade, FDA approved and recyclable. The sleeve provides a good gripping surface during feeding and also a great tactile experience for your baby.

I personally think that the colors are fun and great for big brothers and sisters to pick out for their baby siblings. And the sleeve would make the bottle easier to hold during those mid-night feedings.

The Wee-Go bottles can be purchased directly from Babylife for $18.

BornFree Vented Glass Bottles

These bottles have a vented design to help reduce colic and ear infections and a valve to provides smooth flow and little to no leaks. They are made from pure natural glass, and free of Bisphenol-A (BPA). The Born Free nipples are extremely soft and gentle for your baby to suckle and are available in different flow rates to suit the requirements of your baby from 0-18 months.

This is system is especially suitable for breast fed babies who are being introduced to bottle feeding...the unique air valve begins the steady flow of liquid when a baby starts to nurse - just like with breast feeding. For this reason, these are the bottles I will purchase if we add another child to our clan.

The indentations on the sides makes this bottle is suitable for holding securely...again, for those mid-night feedings we all love!

The BornFree bottles can be purchased directly from BornFree for $19.99 for a set of two.

Siliskin Glass Bottles

Silikids, the makers of great baby products have introduced a new item to their repertoire...the Siliskin glass bottles!

Baby can grab, hold safely and parents can avoid slippage when feeding from a glass bottle encased in a colorful Siliskin. They are microwave safe, hypo allergenic and dishwasher friendly. And one of the best features is the attractive translucent silicone sleeve that allows you to see measurements and liquid in the bottle. These are so pretty they remind me of antique perfume bottles.

The Siliskin bottles are available in 4 or 8 oz sizes, and a selection of colors
directly from Silikids for $12 each.

These are sold in sets of three and each set includes 3 glass bottles, silicone nipple, cap ring, and nipple cover. They feature a secure pop-on cap that they say will never become loose no matter how many times you use it.
