Mophie Cell Phone Battery Cases

I love my iPhone as much as the next guy, but I must admit to neglecting it's battery...when I walk in the door, bombarded by two adorable pups wanting scratches and three equally-adorable children wanting hugs, the last thing on my mind is putting my phone in it's charger.  This is why I count my Mophie Juice Pack Air as one of my favorite purchases from last year.

Mophie's cell phone cases have a back-up battery built right into them, doubling your phone's battery life...a nice perk for the busy parent or traveler who is both busy on their phone and away from a charger during the day.  But that's not the only reason I love my Mophie case.

This case first caught my eye when I noticed it on Heather Dubrow's phone in an episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County (that's right, I'm not afraid to come out and admit to being a Real Housewives junkie).  Hers, like mine, was the white case on a white phone.

I love the streamlined look and smooth finish...it's almost like not having a case at all.  I've received many compliments on my phone's look and have answered the question "what kind of case is that" many times.

The last attribute of the Mophie case I consider a positive is it's weight.  There is certainly an extra heft to the phone due to the extra battery.  My husband says it would bother him to carry it around all day, but I believe I drop my phone much less often because of it.

iPhone Leica Look-Alike Skin

We're not an Apple family, but if we were, purchasing this Leica look-alike iPhone skin would be a must! What a cool, retro graphic for a modern camera! A great Father's Day gift idea!

This highly detailed plastic skin is designed to protect your iPhone 4 while making it look just like a Leica rangefinder camera.

It's extremely thin, durable, and covers both the front and the back of the phone. Application is easy, and removal is clean.

Available at petapixel.com for only $9.00.

New Ugga Mugga Facebook Page

Ugga Mugga is getting a new home on Facebook! Due to some changes, the old group will no longer be available.

This is actually a great opportunity for Ugga Mugga! The new group has many improvements I'm excited about...for starters, the blog posts will now be available on Facebook so they'll show up in your feed just like your friend's status updates! I'm also really excited to interact more with my readers and for you all to get to know each other a little bit...after all, it takes a village! And what a positive and friendly village Ugga Mugga has become!

LeapFrog Text & Learn

Yesterday, I read a piece on nydailynews.com that stated LeapFrog is set to unveil a new product this summer in the United States...the Text & Learn ($21.99). It is designed to teach spelling and computer skills through playing games, navigating with arrows and texting (although it does not hook up to the Internet).

What are your thoughts? Do you see this as a great product that will hopefully entice your child away from your own BlackBerry? Or do you see this as yet another step towards stripping childhood from our children?

Post your comments below...I'm anxious to read your take on this new toy!

Argus Bean

Great Gift for Family!

Argus is the maker of the Bean camera. It was created for the outdoor set...waterproof and easy to clip on to rock climbing belts and bike packs. But I find it perfect for families!

Small and easy to clip on your diaper bag or your purse's key fob, you'll never have another "I wish I had my camera" moment. And because it's made for outdoor use, it's incredibly durable making it nice for children to use as well! And it's waterproof...which never hurts!

The 5.0 megapixel model takes nice high-resolution photos...this isn't just a last-resort small camera. This one features 4x digital zoom and video capabilities!

Included is a USB cable and AC adapter, a wristband, Arcsoft PhotoImpression 4, and CD software.

Models range from $15.97 for the Sprout to $54.20 for the 5MP at amazon.com...or are available at Best Buy, WalMart, Target and Walgreens stores.
