RookieMoms.com

I remember a conversation I had with a friend years ago...when we were both in our first year of motherhood. We were both strollering along when my friend posed this question, "So I know some of the songs from The Sound of Music, the ABCs, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. But what other songs should I be singing to her? What other activities can we do?" So we swapped ideas like finger painting, yoga-mama exercises, etc. After all, it takes a village!

Becoming a parent is overwhelming at times. You feel pressure to keep up-to-date with your child's baby book, to get photos to far away relatives, and to expose your child to the arts from birth. In this chaos, two smart mothers began Rookie Moms...a site that was inspired by their yearning to have at least one fun activity to do with their children each day of their first year. The site has now grown to over 1,000 ideas!

If you're in the middle of a rain/snow day at home or are in an idea funk, visit rookiemoms.com to find an activity to get you and your child inspired. The site is easy to navigate and all of the ideas are sorted by age. And if you have an idea for an activity, please submit it to the site and share it with the rest of us! Like I said, it takes a village!
