Today is my son August's birthday party...and as many regular Ugga Mugga readers may guess, it's a Star Wars theme. All of the food we're serving at his party is from a cookbook he received for Christmas from his Uncle Ryan: Wookiee Cookies: A Star Wars Cookbook.When everyone arrives this afternoon they will be offered a Yoda Soda (fresh lime juice, lime sherbet, sparkling water and a touch of sugar...much healthier than the soda option often found online). All party guests will snack on Dark Side Salsa with blue corn chips and The Force Fruit Fun.
I've made a cake (August requested red velvet...a boy after my own heart) with white cream cheese frosting ("To look like Hoth, the ice planet," he says) featuring a Star Wars logo. When he gets home from the library with his "old little sister" Martha and Daddy he's going to carefully place his many Lego Star Wars characters in battle scenes. Then, as everyone leaves, they'll be receiving some Chewie Wookiee Cookies to take home.
