The past few weeks has brought many an eloquent email, tender text, and beautiful blog comment from longtime readers of the Ugga Mugga blog, as well as new fans who are coming to enjoy Mr. Rogers alongside their little ones through PBS's new program, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. I have enjoyed each and every one. It warms my heart to think of a new generation ugga mugga-ing (rubbing noses)!
For those of you wondering about the term's origin, I'll direct you to an email I received three year ago from Ms. Betty Aberlin herself...talk about a thrilling email!
Although nothing could ever replace Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, I am happy to see his gentle legacy live on. But I do hope today's children are also fortunate enough to see the original as well...there is no program more thoughtful, encourage and kind.
Ugga Muga, dear readers!

My 2 1/2 year old son LOVES Daniel Tiger. Before it came out and when the previews were showing I wasn't paying much attention to it, but he was. The first time we sat own and watched it together I realize it was a Mr. Rogers spin off. I fell in love with the show myself.
ReplyDeleteWhen Daniel says "Ugga Mugga" my little one adores it. We aren't completely sure what it means but we have been saying "Ugga Mugga means 'I love you' in Tiger"... so every night he says "Mugga Mugga Mommy" (that's how he says it)
I also have a 1 year old grandson that fell in love with Daniel,We are taking him to see Daniel the Tiger for his first birthday,I am sure we will both love it....
