Last week my children and I planned a playdate and picnic in the park with some dear friends. My children were looking forward to it so much that they had a practice picnic with their wooden play food upon waking up that morning. Well, as luck would have it, it started raining just as we were getting ready to leave.
What are mothers to do? Have a picnic indoors on a blanket, of course! And that's just what we did! The kids (and us mothers) had a great time! Although we're still planning another outdoor picnic to follow shortly. Who doesn't love a picnic?! And who wouldn't want to pack their picnic in this basket?!
The Blyton Picnic Set includes a vintage-style red stainless steel basket, a wicker basket which holds the scalloped-edge ceramic plates and cups along with cutlery. There are also cloth napkins and storage bags with adorable cross-stitch accents. As though that weren't enough, there is also an insulated beverage holder and salt and pepper shakers!
There really is nothing I can think of to add or change about this basket! It's perfect just the way it is! Which is why it isn't cheap...$125 is the cheapest price I've found. But, considering it's made of ceramic and stainless steel (which is all healthy to eat off of and much more eco-friendly than the cheap plastic counterparts), I'd say this is a wonderful investment. An investment in play time with your children for years to come...and something that is certain to become an heirloom. Just think, some day your children will be having picnics with your grandchildren telling tales of indoor picnics on blankets with friends!
